Dr. Shima Keene is a Director of the Conflict Studies Research Centre, Oxford; Senior Fellow at the Institute for Statecraft, London; Special Advisor to Force Intelligence and Specialist Operations, Thames Valley Police; and a Deployable Civilian Expert for the UK Government’s Civilian Stabilisation Group specializing in Security and Justice. Shima advises on matters relating to National and Global Security to include terrorism, organised crime, economic crime, cyber-crime and governance.
Shima is a former investment banker, Director of Security Technology and Advisor on Security and Resilience at the Defence Academy of the UK, as well as Special Advisor to the UK Ministry of Defence. She is the author of “Threat Finance: Disconnecting the Lifeline of Organized Crime and Terrorism” and holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Studies; an MPhil in Defence and Security Studies; and a Ph.D. in International Criminal Law. Dr Keene currently lectures at Sulhamstead Police Academy, BPP Law School, the University of Cambridge, and the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
