Marissa Birkland is Senior Director of Strategy and Operations for the Optum Information Security Office. Marissa has over 15 years of healthcare experience with a diverse background in technology, operations, marketing, consulting, and cybersecurity. Marissa holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota Curtis L. Carlson School of Management. Marissa obtained a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from United Health Group and an eCornell Executive Women in Leadership certification from Cornell University in New York. She is an advocate and mentor serving Black Girls in Cyber (BGiC) and Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS) organizations as well as an elected School Board Director for Ventures Academy.
