Senior Enterprise Security Architect, Medtronic
David has 25 years of experience in the technology and security fields and is currently Sr. Enterprise Security Architect for Medtronic where he is responsible for providing strategic security leadership and vision in partnership with other security stakeholders. While ensuring that Medtronic’s global security architecture enables the business and supports the technology strategy in a cost effective manner, David also provides direction in mitigating risk through the prudent use of security architecture principles with a specific focus on Medtronic’s Internet of Things (IoT), medical device and cloud strategies in addition to global IT initiatives within the context of a highly acquisitive business environment.
Prior to Medtronic, David was Director of Cybersecurity Services for KPMG where he was a trusted advisor to clients in assessing the effectiveness of their security programs and assisting with developing risk-appropriate security strategies and roadmaps. Prior to KPMG, David was President of Intensity Analytics, a security software firm that specializes in behavioral biometric authentication, threat intelligence and detecting anomalous computer activity using real-time human behavioral patterns. Before Intensity Analytics, David was CISO of Thomson Reuters, where he led the corporate programs for information security, business continuity, disaster recovery and technology related audit and compliance activities. David holds a Masters degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.
