President, CyberSmart® Law
Emily is the founder and President of CyberSmart® Law, a specialized law firm focusing on the needs of small and medium-sized companies in the areas of legal data protection obligations and contracts, data risk and breaches, and protection of trade secrets. Emily consults with organizations to understand their vulnerabilities and compliance gaps, mitigate their digital risk, and create data security programs consistent with their corporate culture.
Emily received her J.D. in 1994 from Harvard Law School and her B.A. in Economics from Yale University. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked for Fortune 100 companies such as GE Transportation Systems, GE Aircraft Engines, and General Motors.
Emily is also an adjunct professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, teaching data breach liability and cyber-crimes, and she serves on the Board of Directors of PPL, Inc.
